KHIDJA (dj Rusu & dj Flore)

-very short presentation-
Andrei Rusu & Florentin Tudor followed an ascendent pathway to glory in the
extremely active Bucharest nightlife, playing music for almost  a decade, in
most clubs you might think of. They play deep disco and house, mostly 80's - 90's stuff,
detroit techno and even towards no wave, progressive rock, jazz, latin
or arabian rhytms early in the morning. In 2007 they released their first commercial project, a compilation
of 70s funk jazz called "Romanian Jazz", together with Jazzanova on the famous german Sonar Kollektiv label.
The compilation appeared on vinyl as well as cd.

Here's what had to say about it:
"As if by magic, Jazzanova and Khidja from Bukarest, Romania, found an unexplored record archive in the east, called Electrecord. None of the names here ring any bell with the average amateur jazz fan, but of course it sounds great. The overall sound is a cocktail of American jazz with a Balkan blend.
I'd say it's one of the best jazz compilations on Sonar Kollektiv yet."
2010 marked the beginning of a new electronic music project called "Poor Relatives", the first two singles
being released on the compilation. More stuff is just around the corner.

In the many years of playing beats, Khidja spun together with the following superstars:

Moodymann (Detroit), Eric Duncan (Rub N Tug NY), Dj Spun (NY), Idjut Boys (UK), Darshan Jesrani of Metro Area (US) Domu (UK), Soft Rocks (UK), Tim Sweeney (NY), Nick Chacona (US), In Flagranti (US),Yam Who(UK), Cuebism (SW), Mad Mats (SW), Nostalgia 77 (UK), Joe90 (UK), Tom Gilles (UK), Grand Wizard Theodore (NY), Dom Servini(UK), Paul Murphy(UK), Alan Brown(AU), Dublex Inc.(DE), 7Samurai / Panoptikum(AU), Mr. Oof(FR) and Slope(DE), Philarmonix (DE).
